What Constitutes To A Safe Pallet Racking System?

Here at Monarch shelving we want to reinforce the need for safety when purchasing your pallet racking system.

The system requires some accessories, all have a different purpose yet equally as essential as each other.

Anti-collapse metal mesh screens.

These provide a protection for your work force in a variety of different working premises. Anti Collapse Mesh can be fixed to the back or pallet racking shelving. This protects against potential risk from falling objects. It acts as a fence to avoid personal injury to employees and also damage to machinery and fork lift trucks. Anti-collapse protection is suitable for use in close warehousing as well as chill stores and freezers where the open mesh does not restrict the free flow of air.

Barriers.

Acts as a safety barrier pallet racking protector, Designed for Pallet racking frames in warehouses, distribution depots, manufacturing units etc.

  • Highly visible colours.
  • Easily installed.

Coil Holders.

For the storage of cable reels or oil barrels, the coil is located on a ‘Coil Cradle’ meaning that the coils can be located in to a system using a ‘Boom’ attachment on a forklift jousting through the eye of the coil.

Column guards.

Column guards or rack protectors are commonly used to protect the pallet racking uprights which can be damaged by fork lift trucks. Impact damage to the rack upright can lead to critical component failure and at worst a rack collapse. They are highly visable to raise visual awareness. Using our range of column guards provides protection to all standard pallet racking uprights.

Drum Chocks.

A Drum Chock is located on the front pallet racking beam, it cradles one end of a drum or barrel, and prevents lateral rolling of drums or cylindrical items. The width spacing between the Drum Chock supports is set to compliment the diameter of the cylindrical load. The item stored has to be long enough to span the front and rear pallet racking beams.

Pallet Supports.

Pallet Support Bars are designed to do exactly as they say, sit on pallet racking beams to provide support.

Pallet support bars for all types of racking systems regardless of bay width, depth or racking load bearing capacity. Typically a pair of pallet support bars are used per pallet. They prevent the risk of pallets falling of racking beams and provide additional support.
